The Detec MDMS
The Most Comprehensive Moisture Monitoring System Available.
For Automated Moisture Monitoring of VEGETATED ROOFS, CONVENTIONAL ROOFS and INVERTED ROOFS, the Detec MDMS: • Monitors parapets, penetrations and the entire roof plane proactively to minimize the long-term effects of hidden moisture intrusion and moisture accumulation • Provides continuous monitoring so that action can be taken immediately. No more searching for days to find a leak or waiting for visual damage to show on the underside of a roof deck, attic area or ceiling • Installs UNDER the roof membrane in conventional roof systems • Monitors continuously ensuring maximum risk mitigation • Retrofits into most re-roofing jobs, too. Ask your Detec Rep for applicable roof membranes and roof types
For Automated Moisture Monitoring of the BUILDING ENVELOPE (walls, windows, doors and other penetrations) the Detec MDMS: • Installs contiguously around the perimeter base of the envelope and under all penetrations for complete coverage • Provides cost-effective, automated monitoring to detect and locate moisture intrusions in the building envelope • Informs appropriate personnel proactively of an intrusion so action can be taken before it becomes a costly repair or construction defect lawsuit. • Monitors interior flood zones |

MDT 2-CONDUCTOR TAPE
is a rugged sensing element applied within wall cavities, roof areas and other critical areas which will be concealed after construction. It is capable of detecting liquid water intrusion as well as moisture accumulation in hygroscopic building materials.
Our proprietary MDT provides contiguous linear coverage and constant monitoring in areas prone to leaking, so the system will immediately identify a water intrusion. This approach is much more reliable and responsive than point monitoring systems, which periodically monitor certain designated points.
Each 8' to 12' length of tape defines the zone to be monitored. The tape is non-intrusive, non-toxic, durable and easy to apply. It adheres permanently to most building materials.
Up to eight zones of MDT connect to an RMU. See next section to learn about the RMU.
The RMU is assigned a digital code to every monitored zone. It is then referenced to the project drawings. The RMU combines eight zone inputs into a single output to increase installation and materials efficiencies. The units are housed in standard outlet boxes with blank covers that may be discreetly located within the building.
The RMU then sends data on to the Detec D6000 computer.
The Detec 6000 is a state-of-the-art, on-site data processing unit which serves to scan the RMUs constantly for moisture events. It logs important data and communicates with the remote monitoring center over standard telephone or high-speed lines. This unit can reliably monitor over 6,000 zones making it scalable from small to large buildings.
Data is organized by the D6000 and put into report form for analysis by trained Detec personnel. These reports are sent to the end user on a monthly basis providing accurate, trends-driven data.
